Julian R.N. Jackson

Welcome, here you will find a diverse and eclectic collections of my work. I am a graduate student at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in the Department of Biology, where I study ocean acidification. In addition to a scientist, I am also a Artist at Ground Floor Contemporary Studio. Art has always been special to me and through photography it has also created its own niche within my mind, body, and soul. Art for me had its nascence when I obtained my parent’s vintage Minolta film camera and I got that first look into the viewfinder. I noticed my how my vision turned into reality as a I looked through the lens and I knew at that moment that I wanted to capture my art through photography. I use my camera as an extension of my own vision. I see people as beautiful, regardless of creed, gender, race, or any other categorical box. Cultural expectations often show us only one face of beauty. My camera shows you that beauty resonates in every face, every form, every person. As you look at my work—do you see what I see?
